Popular in England in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the boxing with bare hands were brutal. The sport was reformed in 1867, with the Queensberry rules, which provided three-minute rounds and gloves. Entered into force in 1872.
The professional boxing has ten or twelve rounds at most.
